1. Topics of this competition
Topic: Data Interpretation of Climate Change and Global Response
As a national strategy, addressing climate change has been integrated into the overall layout of ecological civilization construction and overall economic and social development. The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China further clarified the direction of my country's work on climate change, insisted on coordinating industrial structure adjustment, pollution control, ecological protection, and addressing climate change, coordinated efforts to promote carbon reduction, pollution reduction, green expansion, and growth, and promoted ecological priority, Saving and intensive, green and low-carbon development. The "Action Plan for Carbon Peaking Before 2030" issued by the State Council in 2021 clarifies the timetable, road map, and construction drawings for the carbon neutralization work of carbon peaking. For better climate governance, we need innovative and collaborative approaches to address the crises and challenges posed by climate change. Climate change will affect and challenge the world at different levels, which will generate different data concerns; at the same time, each new data insight may also inspire new global response strategies. Combining the optional thinking dimension of the topic, based on the given data set, and supplementing the data set when necessary, a big data theme analysis report is formed.

2022 (15th) China Undergraduate Computer Design Contest - Big Data Theme Competition (direct report to competition area)
Competition topic: Data Interpretation of COVID-19 and Global Response
On January 18, 2022, Michael Ryan, head of WHO's health emergency program, said at the 2022 World Economic Forum video conference : People may never be able to eliminate the new crown virus, and this virus may eventually become part of the ecosystem. The World Economic Forum released the 16th "Global Risks Report", which clearly pointed out that the new crown pneumonia epidemic has further exacerbated geopolitical and social challenges, and the crisis of climate change has become increasingly prominent. Now more than ever, we need innovative and collaborative approaches to address current crises and challenges. The challenge of COVID-19 will bring different data concerns, and each new data insight will bring new coping strategies. Combining the optional thinking dimension of the topic, based on the given data set, and supplementing the data set when necessary, a big data theme analysis report is formed. Encourage students to put forward their own thinking dimensions based on data analysis, for example: • Analyze geopolitical and social challenges in the response to the global COVID-19 pandemic through real data. Example: Vaccine distribution and economic recovery. More than half of the world's population has already received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, compared with only 7% of Africa's population which has received two doses. Whether the unfair distribution of vaccines will have a profound impact on economic recovery. • Analyze the regulations, policies and specific measures of different countries in response to the new crown epidemic through real data. For example: Comparison of Chinese and foreign epidemic prevention and control policies, and the characteristics of policies to combat the new crown epidemic. On the one hand, it is possible to analyze the highlights of China's epidemic prevention and control and the areas that can be improved; on the other hand, it is possible to discuss the highlights and areas that can be improved in different countries and regions. Based on the above data analysis, suggestions are put forward for global response plans such as the improvement of epidemic prevention and control.

2021 (14th) China Undergraduate Computer Design Competition Big Data Theme Competition
Competition topic: Data Interpretation of National Planning and China's Economic Development
Since the reform and opening up, China's economy and society have experienced round after round of development and improvement. We have shifted from focusing on GDP growth to carbon neutrality, from focusing on foreign trade deficits to focusing on the domestic cycle, and from focusing on foreign exchange reserves to focusing on RMB internationalization. Behind the planning and transformation of policies is decision-making based on data; the decision-making and implementation of policies will generate new data, and the insights brought by these new data can verify the implementation of this policy plan.
